David Tabbert Photographer

David Tabbert

Taking a photography class in high school at the age of fifteen was his first exposure to photography. The class was called “Black & White 101” and he credits his teacher, Mr. Lawrence for his passion for photography. It was after developing his first roll of film that really hooked him and he has never lost his excitement for his craft.

Growing up in Waukegan, Illinois, he graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in “Commercial Photography”, and his career took off. His first position took him to High Point, North Carolina. High Point is called “The Furniture Capital of the World”. He started as an assistant to four staff photographers. David took this opportunity to learn from his peers and became a staff photographer in just nine short months. During his time in High Point, David had two of his shots featured in Architectural Digest magazine.

Returning to Chicago some time later, he worked as a staff photographer for many years. Gaining experience in the Chicago market was priceless. David was exposed to many types of commercial advertising photography from small product to large room scenes.

Wanting a change, David branched out on his own and became a “Freelance Photographer”. Working at various studios has given him exposure to many other talented photographers, art directors and designers.

Whether he is working in a studio, outside or on location, David puts his heart and soul into every image he creates. He has a unique style that combines his Commercial experience and his Fine Art Photography. David is always striving to compose his next image. One look at his work and you will see why he is so highly respected in his field.

David currently resides in Chesterton, Indiana with his wife Mary and his daughter Kelsey.
